Invisalign Clear Aligners Look Something Like This

With Invisalign, the results are obvious, but the method is completely discreet. How? Simple: Dr. Pirtle uses a series of clear aligners to subtly reposition your teeth. They blend in easily with your enamel, meaning virtually no one will know you're currently receiving orthodontic treatment.

Invisalign vs. Traditional Braces

Invisalign is a popular orthodontic option that addresses many of the concerns that patients have with traditional braces. Our Charlotte patients prefer clear aligners over braces because:

Invisalign Blends in

Many Invisalign patients are professional adults with busy careers. Others simply don't want noticeable orthodontics. Clear aligners blend in easily, unlike traditional braces.

Invisalign Is Removable

Worried about being able to eat all your favorite hard and crunchy foods? Patients can easily remove Invisalign trays so that there are no limitations to their diet throughout their orthodontic journey.

Invisalign Is Easy to Care for

No need to learn a difficult flossing technique. Invisalign is easy to care for with simple washing, and since it's continually replaced, your aligners will remain fresh.

Invisalign Treatment Is Quicker

Not only is Invisalign more comfortable than braces, but it works much faster too. You can shave six months — or longer — off your orthodontic treatment timeline when you choose Invisalign.

Invisalign In Action

Treatment with Invisalign involves a series of clear aligners which shift and straighten your teeth over time. It's best for patients with minor cases of crookedness and misalignment, but it can also help with slight overbites or underbites. If you're curious about your candidacy, Dr. Pirtle can explain your options.

How Does Invisalign Treatment Work At Precision Dental Partners?

Every Invisalign patient will receive their own unique, completely custom orthodontic plan.
Invisalign has been FDA-approved since 2000.
Invisalign has been FDA-approved since 2000.

Invisalign Consultation

Before we begin your treatment plan or send out the measurements for your aligners, our dentist will make sure that you're a good candidate for Invisalign. He'll also take time to listen to your needs and goals, such as following your aligners with teeth whitening.

Dental Measurements

Each set of aligners from Invisalign is based off your exact teeth and measurements.

Dr. Pirtle and our team will capture the dimensions of your smile, allowing for precisely fitting aligners.

Aligner Creation

Next, we'll send out your scans and measurements to the lab.

There, professionals will craft a series of successive clear aligners, made just for you.

Aligner Fitting

Once your aligners are ready, you'll come back to our Ballantyne office to pick them up.

You may try them on to see how well they fit. Dr. Pirtle will also give you instructions on wear and care.

Wear and Replacement

Your instructions will tell you how long to wear each aligner — either weekly or biweekly — as well as when to replace it.

Losing aligners is not uncommon, so it's smart to save older ones just in case.

Final Results

Nearing the end of your treatment, you'll come back to our office. Dr. Pirtle will check to make sure your results are excellent, and if you have any concerns, we'll work to solve them.

How Can I Ensure Long-Term Results? With Consistent Retainer Usage

One of the lesser-known benefits of Invisalign is how well it trains you for wearing your retainer. So, when it comes time to switch out your clear aligners for a retainer, you'll already be a pro.

Some types of retainers look and feel very much like Invisalign, with clear trays that go over your teeth. They're also quite a bit easier to use, because you'll only have to put them on at night, as opposed to 20 or more hours a day. A traditional retainer may still be recommended for some cases, including more complex cases or realignment.

Regardless of the type you end up wearing, dentists and orthodontists agree: wearing a retainer is one of the most important steps in Invisalign treatment — and it's the only way you can maintain your results. Otherwise, your teeth may shift over time.

Is Invisalign Covered by Insurance?

In strictly cosmetic cases, Invisalign is not covered by insurance. In others, it may be at least partially covered. We'll work to maximize the benefits of your particular plan.

Our Charlotte team knows how important straight, healthy-looking teeth can be to your self-esteem and even your oral health. That's why we accept low-interest or no-interest CareCredit® financing to spread out the cost of any out-of-pocket costs for your orthodontics.
